ANNUAL REPORT – 2018 – 2019

 

It takes immense pleasure to present the Annual report of Mary Rani Public School to apprise you all. This report is a sincere attempt to showcase our progress in terms of achievements and activities during the year.

Academic Excellence: - Our system of examination and evaluation consists of assignments, Periodic tests and term examinations. For the students who appear for board examinations, term exams, a series of revision tests and model exam are conducted in the school. For the evaluation, assessment and improvement in academic performance, open house is arranged after each examination.            

Co – curricular activities: -   Aiming at sustained development of the students in diverse areas the school makes strategic planning. They are given training in Music, Karate, Kungfu, Roller skating, Chess, art & craft and classical dance.

School assembly:- As school assembly is a platform for students to express the talents and abilities, assembly is conducted on the alternate day for classes 1 up to XII.

Counselling:- To ease the stress and strain students are given proper guidance and counseling. Holy Mass and Confession is arranged on every first Friday to inculcate spiritual values among the students.      

Enrichment programmes:- In keeping with school, policy of continuous up gradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the school and other professional organisation. Our teachers were able to attend a number of faculty improvement programmes arranged by CBSE, So as to improve their academic transaction skills and to upgrade their capabilities.

Re – opening day:- The school reopened on 1st June following the traditional way of involving the blessings of god Almighty with Holy Mass and prayers attended by Rev Sisters, Staff, Students and Parents.

 

Environmental day: - Inauguration of nature club and environmental day were held together on 5th June. Students performed various programmes highlighting the sensitive issues of environment. The programme was followed by tree planting ceremony.

P.T.A General Body Meeting: - The first PTA general body meeting was held on 9th June for the parents from KG upto XII. Rtd IPS office Mr. Jacob Job leads the session on the topic of “Effective parenting.”

Merit day: - The school hosted the Merit day on 11th June. Students were honoured for proving their academic excellence by scoring high marks in Xth and XII board examinations. Meritorious achievements were acknowledged in the function.

Investiture Ceremony: - Master Davis Joseph Saju and Aiswarya Shekhar were elected as head boy and head girl respectively on 7th July. A solemn ceremony was conducted in the assembly ground, where in newly elected leaders took charge of their office. Principal pinned the badge to the perfects and was followed by oath of office.

Exuberance: - Youth Festival was held in the month of August to foster the literary and cultural talents of our students. Our blooming buds performed various items based on variety themes in the kid’s fest.

Inauguration of club activities: - Village officer, perunnai inaugurated the club activities for the academic year. Various activities are held under different clubs to develop child physically, morally, socially and mentally and to hone skills in Co – Scholastic areas.

Independence Day:- Independence day was celebrated with many programmes based on national integration.

Flood relief measures :- The heavy floods that affected us stays afresh even now in the minds of those who faced the dreadful event. To mitigate the impact the school had provided necessary support through the distribution of household utilities and other survival essentials to the affected. During the time of distress our students and staff visited the flood affected areas and involved in the sanitization. We are involved in the relief activities by providing food packets for the flood victims. The motor vehicle department of changancherry region gave a special award to our school for the step taken for the flood rescue operation. Specially our bus drivers are honoured for their service during those days.

Sannidhi 2018:- The Annual retreat was held in the first half of the academic year separately for Christian and Non – Christians students. The  two day retreat focused on spirituality and Eucharist celebration and it offered a space for reflection and benediction.

Teachers day:- Teachers day was celebrated on 5th September and it was a glowing tribute to the teachers for their selfless service.

Gandhi Jayanti:- In connection with Gandhi jayanti, students participated in the cleaning process to understand the dignity of labour. Students of Std XI cleaned the village office premised and other participated in programme by cleaning the school campus.

Kerala Piravi:- Kerala Piravi Celebration was inaugurated by Shri Harikumar koyikkal (Talent union President, N.S.S changanacherry) on 1st November and was followed by various entertainment programmes and competitions.

Athletic Meet: - The annual sports meet was held in the month of October. Students participated in various events and games under the banner of their respective houses and secured points and grades.

Mar Thomas Kurialacherry memorial Interschool Quiz competition :- was held on  2nd November the competition was conducted for UP, H.S and H.S.S separately. Around 10 schools were participated in the competition and the winners were awarded with certificates and cash awards.

Children’s Day :- Children’s day was celebrated in a befitting manner by the students of KG and primary wing. Rev. Fr. Roy Kannamchira the director of DCL inaugurated the programme and the tiny tots conveyed the importance of the day through variety programmes.

Tour:- Tours and trips were arranged to rejuvenate the minds and to provide space to see new palces to get new experiences. Students from Std IX – XI had a 2 days trip to Mysore. Class 1 up to V went for a one day trip to Alappuzha where as class 6 to 8 and class XII students enjoyed a day in wonderla.

Conclusion:- Many Milestone have been achieved and many still have to be reached. We Mary Rani family will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and Zeal befitting the standards of this portal of education. I bow my head in reverence to the Almighty God for his abundant blessings he had showered upon us. May I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to students, Staff both teaching and non – teaching, parents, benefactors and well wishers for the wholehearted Co-operation. Let me conclude this report by entrusting our school into divine hands of Holy Mary and invoke blessings of Lord Jesus.
